Stan Sultemeier - 09/25/2007
Stan Sultemeier is a retired Lutheran minister who lives in Fredericksburg, TX. He has been El Hefe's father-in-law for the past 22 years, and will turn 69 next week.
Stan did not begin cycling until this year. According to Stan, "I started riding in July of 2007. My friend Arno lost his riding partners and the neighbors with bikes were hiding from him. He begged me to consider and it wasn't so bad. Easy on the knees compared to walking and my wife likes for me to be out of the house, along with being firm and fit."
When asked why he is riding the Bike to the Beach, Stan replied, "The MS 150 was Peter's idea and he is so convincing I just couldn't pass it up."
Stan has been training regularly for the MS 150 with his budy Arno. "We ride three or four days a week. 37 miles is the most so far." This may not seem like a lot of miles, but since they are riding the Hill Country terrain around Fredericksburg, this is a pretty good training regimen.
Finally, when asked why he wanted to ride with Velo Valero, Stan responded, "The Valero team looks so cute and trim in their little tights that I really look forward to blending in."
We are glad to have you Stan, and look forward to seeing you on the road to Corpus Christi!
