RIDE CANCELLATION/CHANGE:
*** We are canceling the 8:30 AM ride from Luling due to cold temps this morning. Instead, we'll meet at the Exxon at Hwy. 471 near 211 (Helotes) starting at 1:00 PM (with a start temp. of 50 deg. instead of 34 deg!) and ride the hills to Medina Lake Dam then down towards Castroville on 471 - a nice combination of climbing and flat work. you can join us!! Sorry about the confusion, but I've caught enough grief lately about cold rides... :)
We leave at 8:30 AM from the Settlement at Patriot Ranch (south of Luling) for a ride to Palmetto State Park and beyond. Afterwards we head to Blacks in Lockhart for BBQ.

We can either meet at David's house at 7:00 a.m. to consolidate into fewer vehicles, or meet at the gate at the Settlement at Patriot Ranch (take IH-10 East, exit Hwy 80, go right and it is on the left about 3 miles). This is the exit before Buc-ee's. David will let us in and we can park by the pond. The route will be approx. 40 miles (map) to Luling, then through Palmetto State Park and south towards Gonzales. Those who prefer a shorter ride can head back for a 28 mile out-and-return. We can also recommend a nice 55 mile option for anyone who craves some extra distance!
