Meet us in New Braunfels at the Schlitterbahn "Resort at the Rapids" (park at the Lincoln Street lot near the Office) for Velo Valero's kickoff training ride for this year's Bike MS Valero 2009 Alamo Ride to the River, followed by relaxation at the resort. The resort has locker rooms available, a pool and river access, so plan on bringing swimsuit and hanging out with your fellow riders. Feel free to invite friends and family members to join us after the ride. Ride start at 8:00 AM. The ride will include part of the MS route.
There will be a special promotion during this training ride for those who have not registered yet.
(FYI: I will post the code on Saturday afternoon when I get back from the ride for those who were not able to attend.

There is a fee of $9.00 for those planning on going into the resort after the ride. This includes: parking at the resort, tube rental for floating down the river, and admission to the resort. Ice chest with food and drinks are allowed to be brought into the park. Feel free to either grab lunch before coming to the park or bring it with you. No Glass or Beer. Beer can be purchased in the park.
A word of caution - There is overflow parking nearby if the resort lot is full. Just be sure you don't park in a tow away zone. Common Street is only one block over for anyone needing to park and ride their bikes to the start. Gruene Hall is only a mile away and also has plenty of parking. Please remember this is the resorts busy season and the park is open. Therefore, we can not guarantee that everyone will be able to park in the resort parking lot.
