Our telephone hotline is at 345-HELP. If you are a ride leader and you are cancelling a ride due to weather, construction, etc., please update the hotline at least an hour before the planned ride start. It's also a good idea to visit the ride start to communicate the cancellation to anyone who shows up. To update the message, perform the following steps -
To Cancel a Ride
Always use the format:
Welcome to the Velo Valero Training ride hotline. The ride on <date> at <time> from <location> has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. All other training rides will occur as scheduled.
Example:
Welcome to the Velo Valero Training ride hotline. The ride on Wednesday, August 27th, at 06:30 pm from Bullis Country Park has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. All other training rides will occur as scheduled.
NOTE: If multiple rides are scheduled on the same date at the same time and one or more is being cancelled, please contact the other ride leaders to coodinate a single message on the hotline.
To Reset the Message
Always use the format:
Welcome to the Velo Valero Training ride hotline. No scheduled training rides are currently canceled. See you on the road!
