- Need historian at each meeting to record minutes and vote tallies - Carl
- Verification of quorum (at least 50% of active board Members present) - Quorun Present
- Peter out next week - David Sloan will act as team President in my absence
Calendar of Events
- LBJ 100 Ride, April 19 - Peter/John
- Lunch will be provided in Fredericksburg for those that do the ride - Lasagna courtesy of Pete's in-laws - need headcount today
- Fiesta Wildflower Ride - April 20 - Carl will be the Ride Captain for Velo Valero, Luis and Kyle also riding
- Bicycle Clinic at NuStar, featuring Matt Hamlin from Bicycle Heaven and Donna Escobar from Health by Design - April 22nd, 6:30 to 08:00 pm - Peter - Encourage all new and nearly new riders to attend
- Velo Valero Sponsored Tour de Cure Training Ride, April 27th - Castroville-Devine Route - John - Chuck, Megan, Carl will help out

Volunteers Needed
- Sort and ship jerseys (ETA last week in April) - PJ
- Prepare goodie bags for packet pickup on 05/06 - socks, tattoos, Velo under armor (maybe), personal hygiene kits from last year's VTO - Kirstin
- Staff packet pickup on 05/06 - Peter
- MS Camp Can Do on 05/09-11 - Volunteers needed to travel to Burton, TX, for the weekend and support the camp - Please contact Andrea - event is short of volutneers
- Valero trying to become "Corporate Star" for MS, which entails $500K of contributions, both direct and in kind
- Laura brought up the volunteer support we need for Tour de Cure - suggested we pick one event to staff with volunteers
- Motion made to select San Marcos finish line for our event, seconded and approved
Training Ride Schedule (John)
- Tour de Cure training ride on 04/27 - need plenty of parking and variety of routes
- Castroville-Devine-Hondo route - 42 and 65 miles
- Need SAG support
- Team Faaster training ride had 75 people!
- Training ride support for new and nearly new riders - what can we do to improve this? Peter suggested team think about this for the fall
Fundarising (David/Andrea)
- Yippe! We broke through the $20,000 barrier on Wednesday, April 16th!
- Cruiser Bike Raffle - Mayfield says we can open up sale to all the TDC registrants - should allow us to make a lot more off the raffle - Peter
- Talked to Rusty - we'll review bikes Friday, select two, and set up the web site to sell raffle tickets over the weekend
- Laura suggested we announce the winner at the Saturday Night Celebration - sell tickets on the grounds
- Any other ideas?
Budget (PJ)
- Quarterly update
- PJ reviewed our first quarter budget, including the carry over from 2007
- For TDC, we have $1787 in budgeted expenses
Team By-Laws (PJ/Peter)
- Draft of bylaws completed by PJ and Patrick - click here to review
- Review key points
- How to handle team members younger than 18
- Creation of a Secretary Board position that will take minutes at the Board Meetings and assist with maintenance of the team web site
- Non-employees as Board members - we have done this in the past, and will continue to do so, but want to keep the majority of Board positions reserved for employees
- How Officers and Board members are nominated and elected
- Peter discussed the overall goal of the bylaws and asked Board Members to review prior to the next meeting
- Motion to form subcommitte to review and recommend passage to the Board did not carry
Sponsorships
- HP and Microsoft agreed to provide small sponsorships (< $2000) the team again - HP in the spring, Microsoft in the summer
- Sylvia will review with Eric to determine whether we can proceed
- $750 in the budget for spring goodie bags - Peter will work with Specialty Store to identify items to purchase
- Have enough socks for the TDC, will need more for the BTTB
- Working with Phillip Rodriquez from Specialty Services on other ideas -
- Workout shirts (similar to what they distributed for the Wellness Assessments) - Team logo on the left chest, "The Pedal Power to Take You Anywhere" on the back
- Peter presented art work for this shirt to the board, Sylvia will review
- Sandals, water shoes, or Crock-a-like - don't want anything cheap
- Insulated water bottle with team logo - do folks have enough water bottles already?
Tour de Cure National team (All) - Out of Town Rides - Not discussed at this meeting
- Valero is a National Team for TDC again - this requires us to raise $100,000 across all our teams and events
- If you ride in multiple events, you only have to fundraise in your "home" event
- Events are

- Grace Batres has booked room at the Crown Plaza Astor Hotel, 729 Canal Street
- Valero will provide two vans and cover cost of gas
- Only Valero employees can drive
- All other expenses covered by the team member

- Oklahoma City (06/24) - PJ/Chuck
- Valero will provide two vans (see BR)
