Make sure you write your name and address on your helmet too. When I had my emergency trip to the hospital I couldn't figure out how everyone knew my name - it was on my helmet.

Saturday morning was TOO COLD for me!

I was surprised to meet Andrea & PJ in the first morning spin class at the gym. That made everything much more fun...

Actually quite warm during the day - mid-70s. It only got cold at night.

Hmmmm.....For me, the best and worst things are easy to list.

The best, helping those with MS.

The worst, seeing Carl in wet cycling shorts (at least they were not white).

I agree with all that has been said! This tragedy really has weighed on my mind as well. The event was very moving, and my prayers really go out to the the family (particularly the little girl) and their friends. Thank you David for the prayer in the end.

We are not just cyclist, we all are mother's, father's, sister's, brother's, ... who have loved ones just like the Bruehler's. It's more important than ever to obey the rules of the road.

I was not able to go to the memorial service last night, but over the past week this incident has been weighing heavy on my mind. Many times over the years, I have been on this same road with my friends and teammates talking and having fun while enjoying one of the greatest sports on earth. This incident has really made me think about how fragile our lives are and how everything can change in a split second. We take risks every time we go out on our bikes. My prayers are with the family and friends of the couple and especially to their daughter. I also pray that God watches over the cycling community when we go out on the roads in the future. My Velo Valero family represents many of my closest friends.

As usual El Jefe, great job. Even though I won't be riding with you this weekend I will be getting ready for next year. Everyone stay safe and keep your head on a swivel for other cyclists. For the new riders, you can do it!! Don't be in a hurry and enjoy the ride, unless you're a "hammerhead". In that case, just be courteous.

Mr. Klesse, your participation in these rides and support you now provide was only a dream we had for the bike team back in early 2000. Thank you for making it a reality.

Congratulations everyone on a job well done.

It was great seeing Alan and other Velo Valero riders Saturday riding in the Conquer the Coast. It was a great warm-up for the Alamo to the River.

One of our new riding buddies showed us a bike path in Boerne that runs on the old train line. Google calls it Ebner Street. It starts at Main & Fredrick and runs to Esser Road near Highway 46 & River Road. Right at the foot of Herff Road.

Since its an old train line its flat as a pancake and open. Only auto traffic is at the old street crossings.

Lets you get through the whole town without a bit of bother. Awesome!

Training hard and ready for my 6th straight ride. Although I will miss riding back home, this new route seems to be more cyclist friendly and the inside the Alamodome finish line sounds like a really cool deal!
