Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Wednesday!  This will be a real quick blog, because I know everyone is busy witht the holidays.

Thanksgiving Turkey Ride This Saturday

John "the Benevolent" Tension has a ride scheduled for this Saturday.  Here's his report -

Come out and work off some of those calories you packed on over the last couple of days. We leave from Leon Springs at 9:00 AM (you even get to sleep in) for a ride up Toutant Beauregard to Boerne, returning via Amman Road and Fair Oaks Ranch (map). Total distance is 32 miles, with various shorter options available.

Ride to the River Awards Banquet

The Ride to the River Awards Banquet was held last Wednesday.  Valero was recognized as the Title Sponsor, and Velo Valero won the top fundraising team award again.  CEO Bill Klesse won the top fundraiser award, and team member Alain Charette was the third highest fundraiser.  Click here for a great summary of the event.

Hiking and Biking in the Davis Mountains

Many team members traveled to Ft. Davis in West Texas for a weekend of hiking and biking.  Some of us did one of the hardest bike rides you'll ever do (the climb to the tallest public road in Texas at the McDonald Observatory), and then followed this two days later with one of the funnest, fastest, and most scenic rides you'll ever do (32 miles of endless downhill between Ft. Davis and Balmorhea).  Every one had such a good time, we've already booked the hotel for next year!

Some of the gang takes a break while hiking, although Hannah wants to keep going.  For more photos from the trip, click here.

...that's it for now!  Happy Thanksgiving!
